HEX-USB+CAN — connection and limits

Install the FTDI adapters package. In Settings → Connections → Transport, select HEX-USB+CAN, the detected device under Adapter, and the CAN baudrate. The adapter field displays the device name.

Performance limits

Possible frame loss

Frame loss may occur when using HEX-USB+CAN adapters due to adapter limitations. 450 frames/s can be used as a practical guideline for evenly spaced total incoming traffic. Suitable traffic rates may vary depending on the adapter and operating conditions.

If a complete capture is important for your task, consider checking communication at the expected load beforehand. This guideline can help with planning, but does not guarantee loss-free operation in all conditions.

Observe line utilization; if frames are missing, check connection troubleshooting.
