Account and license
Settings → Account shows account sign-in, available licenses and the current activation state.
First activation
- Register or sign in to your osoTEC account and request a beta license on the Protohaund page. Signing in does not create a license. An existing license is not automatically replaced by a beta license.
- In Protohaund, open
Settings → Account, clickSign inand complete sign-in in the browser. - Use
Refresh licenseif needed, then clickActivatefor the selected license. - Check the available modules and install the required packages.
Cancel cancels a pending sign-in; Sign out signs the application out of the account.
Standard beta license terms
| Term | Value |
|---|---|
| Modules | Modbus RTU, CANopen, Automotive VAG |
| Tools | Tracer and Monitor |
| Period | 14 days from the license request |
| Autonomous use | Up to 7 days after a confirmed server check, limited by the overall license expiry |
| Activation | One computer |
| Renewal | After expiry, request another 14-day period in your account |
Updating autonomous access does not extend the overall license term. After renewing in your account, refresh the license in the application. Self-service renewal may be unavailable if an administrator changed the terms.
License, packages and access
A module requires a valid license with the appropriate entitlements and installed packages. Installing a package does not add license rights: its contents may exceed the available functionality. For example, VAG requires the Automotive tools dependency, but that does not unlock the separate Generic module.
Adapter packages provide connectivity and do not require a separate transport entitlement. Starting DriverBridge or McpBridge does not expand the license either. MCP operations also require local permissions for the current instance.
If a module is unavailable, check the profile menu message and installed components.
Checking status
Check Valid until, Modules, Server check and Autonomous use. Refresh license retrieves account license information; Update autonomous use checks the license and refreshes the permitted offline period.
Access ends when either the license or autonomous-use period expires, including access to tools already open. Connect to the server for verification, or renew an expired beta license in your account.
If the computer limit is reached, open Manage activated devices. The server checks activations and removal restrictions; renaming a computer does not create another activation slot.
